BMC Research Unit has established its strategic plan in alignment with BMC strategic plan and its mission and vision and promotes its research culture based on the sustainable development goals, which aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the community needs. The unit works hard to promote research culture among faculty and students through its activities and providing several facilities including research fund, awards, databases, and ethical approval.

Research Laboratory

One of the major Batterjee medical college’s mission is to cultivate, promote, and sustain a research culture among the students and faculty. The Research Unit has established and operationalized the research work in multiple laboratories that support the investigation of researchers in numerous scientific disciplines, including the study of molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biology, and tissue culture. In addition, the Research Unit bridges opportunities to utilize external laboratories through collaboration with other universities.

Ethical approval

BMC ethical committee has been established to develop and follow up the implementation of ethical and biomedical research standards to preserve the rights of individuals and communities, the dignity of human subjects, appropriate use of human tissue and animal welfare in a way consistent with the Islamic Sharia (law), and the traditions and essence of the culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. BMC ethical committee of Batterjee Medical College has been approved by the national committee of bioethics at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

Grants and Funding

BMC research is a vital asset to the college as it opens new opportunities to contribute to knowledge. The financial support provided by BMC is a scheme created to allow investigations and insight within BMC’s approved themes.
