Drawing inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, BMC has entrenched its foundations in the three pivotal themes of constructing a vibrant society, fostering a flourishing economy, and building an ambitious nation. Vision 2030 accentuates community empowerment as its sixth goal, resonating profoundly with the third goal of BMC’s Strategic Plan that emphasizes community service participation, thereby leading to the inception of the Social Responsibility Unit at BMC. This unit is a testament to BMC's alignment with the Ministry of Education's fervor to interweave community responsibility seamlessly within its trifecta mission of education, scientific research, and community service, crystallizing it as an inherent component of the college's mission and vision.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, driven by ethical and humanitarian convictions, is invested in eradicating poverty not only within its territories but extends its endeavors beyond its borders, contributing significantly to international development efforts. The Kingdom’s moral compass directs it to extend humanitarian aid to developing nations while simultaneously optimizing its domestic social services to ensure enhanced efficacy, equitable access, and fairness. The Kingdom’s commitment to fortifying its social protection framework revolves around bolstering the social security apparatus and fostering a culture of philanthropy among institutions and individuals. This ethos reflects a commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society, demonstrating both domestic and global responsibility.

Alignment with the Kingdom’s Ambitions

BMC scholarships aim to support students and families by providing a full or partial tuition fee scholarship to them. More than 68% of BMC students are receiving financial aids through different specialized Low Income Supporting Programs which can alleviates financial pressures on the low-income families in paying the tuition fees or support the children of the martyrs of the homeland or support orphans who are under the supervision and care of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. In addition to different educational financing programs dedicated to bachelor’s degree students which give the opportunity to student to study and pay the tuition fees either during or after graduation on instalments with zero interest in collaboration with foundations for development finance. BMC’s policies emphasize the importance of international and cultural diversity, which greatly affects the enrichment of the student’s academic and cultural experience and enhances the capabilities and competencies of its graduates. BMC is distinguished by the affiliation of students from about 38 different nationalities, including many developing countries, who are provided with all aspects of direct and indirect financial support as fees exemption or reduction, offering the access to affordable accommodations, food, and free medical services. BMC also provide support the students from low-income families and developing countries to enable them to complete university; the supports ranged from book discount through various in-house book fairs for selling the hardcopies textbooks from world-class publishers as well as expenses vouchers for computers, supplies, and stationary. Through its own student residences, BMC offer reduced accommodation rates for students from low-income families as well as developing countries in addition to special reduced rates through agreements with many local housing facilities.

BMC's Community Anti-poverty Programs

Other BMC’s responsibility towards the community is its commitment to strengthen knowledge and skills of students and take advantage of the BMC’s human, knowledge, and intellectual capitals to meet the needs of community which aligned towards building a knowledge-based economy to contribute to the growth of the national economy, boost its global competitiveness. Thus, BMC is undertaken plans to support and offer technical and financial assistance to its students who are ready to become entrepreneurs or start-up their business through financial and/or consultation assistance. In addition, BMC helps in its local community, to support the start-up of sustainable businesses through appropriate education and training workshops, consulting, guidance, mentorship, as well as access to BMC facilities, like educational resources, laboratories, and libraries. Moreover, in cooperation and partnership between BMC and Alinma Bank, BMC provides financial and developmental consultations as well as financial support with low and/or no profit loans to start-up companies of financially and socially sustainable businesses. BMC allocates a well-equipped place within the campus to provide these services. BMC participates in policy making at local and national levels in which it has different agreements and MOUs with governmental, NGOs, and nonprofit organizations to develop, share, implement and execute policies, plans and programs to end poverty in all its dimensions. BMC in collaboration with Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF-HADAF) which is mainly concerned with providing financial support to organizations that train and qualify Saudis in the private sector as well as supports Saudi entrepreneurs which can improve employment chances for Saudi population and enhance youth and women empowerment. In addition, HADAF plays a critical role to reduce poverty and contribute to rural and regional development. On the other hand, the collaboration between BMC and different funding authorities like HADAF, MONSHAÁT allows the exploration of new areas of innovation, prepare new entrepreneurs through building strengthened capacity and promote competitiveness. Furthermore, through its Career Portal, BMC provides continuous assistance, support and guidance to its students, alumni, future entrepreneurs, and local start-ups as well as financial assistance. BMC was honored to host the TEDx conference for the first-time during March 2022; Fruitful discussions of ideas were presented by valuable speakers in different topics. Approximately 200 guests attended the conference and there were great engagements between the audience and the speakers. Some handed out motivational cards, some asked interactive questions and others shared personal touching stories.

BMC's Anti-poverty Programs

BMC has a fundamental social accountability towards its community. Therefore, through its community service initiatives and social responsibility programs, BMC students and staff members spent more than 278000 volunteering hours in community or charity projects during academic year 2021/22. Consequently, BMC is committed to contribute to the provision of all kinds of support towards no poverty programs through its different initiatives.


  • Keswatul Eid: BMC volunteers collected and donated clothes to family in need in addition to BMC share.
  • Food Baskets: Under "We Are All Responsible" initiative, BMC contributed with non-profit organizations and charities to reduce harm to poor families and needy people. Through the efforts to contribute to the provision of food baskets, BMC has provided more than 1000 food baskets for poor families.
  • Ramadan Boxes: Volunteers designed food boxes for Ramadan under the supervision of a volunteer club and distributed to families in need.
  • World Food Day Campaign: Volunteering events in which different kind of healthy food were distributed through campaigning.
  • Orphan Care: BMC Shares with non-profit organizations and charities providing comprehensive health and medical care to all registered orphans. In addition to psychological and social education programs for orphans to integrate them into society.
  • Multiple Sclerosis Support: BMC in collaboration with "Wasm" association provide a range of services that the Multiple Sclerosis patients need including health, psychological, training, awareness, and educational support.
  • Osteoporosis and Vitamin D Deficiency Campaign: Screening of Students and staff of 12 Schools at Jeddah.
  • Dental Clinic Services: Free dental services and medication were provided at 8 BMC Dental Clinics for patients in collaboration with the public and nonprofit sectors. 28,256 patients were treated and served at BMC’s Dental Clinics for FREE.
